New Contract Award - James Hutton Institute Phase 2

Main Contract Duration: 50 weeks

Following the successful delivery of the new Access Road into James Hutton Institute, Kilmac are delighted to have been awarded the follow-on groundworks for the new Building and supporting infrastructure.

Works undertaken include:

  • 24,000 m3 earthworks
  • 4500m2 of new building structures
  • Foundations
  • Drainage
  • SuDs detention
  • Services
  • Road infrastructure
  • Hard and soft landscaping

The package in excess of £3m will mean continued local work for the labour force as the project is right next door to Kilmac’s Head Office at Dundee Technology Park.

The James Hutton Institute is a world-leading scientific organisation encompassing a distinctive range of integrated strengths in land, crop, waters, environmental and socio-economic science. It undertakes research for customers including the Scottish and UK governments, the EU and other organisations worldwide. The Institute has over 500 employees and 120 PhD students, and with associated bodies and spin-out companies there are over 750 people working on Hutton campuses.

Works have recently commenced and are due to be complete towards the end of 2022.

The project again reaffirms Kilmac ethos to ensure repeat business through Client and main Contractor satisfaction.
