Milestone win for pro golfer Danny

The team at Kilmac is thrilled for PGA EuroPro Tour professional Danny Young.

We’ve supported the Perth golfer for the last three years and Danny posted a landmark win at the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters in Aviemore.

His 12 under par total led the way at Spey Valley and the long-time Craigie Hill member followed it up with a win at the Gleneagles International Pro-Am.

Danny (27) is now fourth in the rankings, with the top five players stepping-up to the Challenge Tour next season.

Managing director Athole McDonald said: “Danny is a real talent and it is great to see him doing so well this season.

He was in fantastic form at Aviemore and I’m sure he can keep it going for the rest of the season.

As a company with strong ties to the area we like to see local talent thriving and Danny has been proudly sporting the Kilmac logo on the EuroPro Tour.”

Danny, who came close to securing a place at The Open at Royal Portrush, said: “I’m delighted to enjoy support from Kilmac, along with Stephen Gardiner Construction and Kingsbarns.

It makes all the difference having that sort of backing when you are chasing success on Tour.

The plan now is to keep moving forward and stay in that top five. We have six or seven events left.

It is nowhere near job done. There’s plenty to play for and I am trying to catch the guys in front of me in the Order of Merit.”

Danny developed his game as a kid playing at Craigie Hill and he’s delighted that Kilmac also throw their weight behind the Perth club.

“It’s good to see members and sponsors like Kilmac doing so much to try and keep the club healthy. I hear advance ticket sales are going very well for the Kilmac sponsored music festival featuring Fish and the RBs on August 31.”
