Kilmac has been awarded two major new contracts by Balfour Beatty to deliver the Groundworks and Hard Landscaping phases for two new primary schools located in East Lothian.
This will be Kilmac’s first project with Balfour Beatty and we are looking forward to collaborating to deliver yet another successful project in Edinburgh. The work comprises of the detailed Passivhaus Principal design and construction of 2Nr separate new build primary schools for East Lothian Council which include nursery and ASN provisions with external landscaping incorporating both hard and soft play amenities.
The buildings are identical from a build perspective and consist of a 2-storey steel framed building featuring a saw tooth profiled roof and clad externally with facing brick with a GIFA of 3,948m2. Externally the school sites differ in layouts but consist of secured landscaped grounds which provide a mixture of both hard and soft play provisions including 2No sports pitches, dedicated nursery and ASN gardens.

Works will commence on site in February 2024 with the schools being ready for occupation during 2024/2025 academic year.
