Kilmac Stadium

DUNDEE have renamed Dens Park as Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park.

Dark Blues chiefs have agreed a six-figure deal with engineering firm Kilmac to rebrand their 119-year-old ground

Kilmac, who are previous shirt sponsors, will have increased company branding around the stadium.

Dundee is the latest club to explore corporate sponsorship of their home ground, following the likes of Patrick Thistle, Livingston, Dumbarton and Alloa.

Dens chief John Nelms, who still hopes to move Dundee away from Dens to a new stadium by 2020, said: “We are always looking for new unique revenue streams and this is a fantastic opportunity for the club and it makes it even better that it is with Richard Kilcullen and Kilmac who are and have been lifelong supporters of the club.”

Kilmac co-founder Richard Kilcullen is a Dundee fan and admits it was important to him for the club to retain Dens Park in the new title.

He said: “It’s an honour to sponsor the stadium. We really feel it takes our already great relationship with the club to another level.

“We realise the importance to the fans to keep Dens Park in the name in what will be the last few years as the home of Dundee Football Club.”
