Warddykes Primary School

Client: Warddykes Primary School
Project Value: £1,370,000
Start Date: May 2015
Contract Duration: 16 months

Project Outline

Warddykes is a new build school project in Arboath. It sits adjacent to the existing school which is extremely run down. The existing school is still live so similarly to Alyth, we have had to programme around traffic restrictions to create the most productive programme we could.

The works involved a large scale earthworks operation which in itself was worth £220k. We have had the usual drainage installation and deep drainage tie ins, however, there were complicated foundations on steep gradiants and 2No large concrete retaining walls to construct.

There are large areas of hardlandscaping using porous block pavers and a large football pitch and netball court.

This job was over 3 phases as phase 1 and 2 were the construction of the new school and car park, and phase 3 is the demolition of the existing school and construction of the football and netball pitches on the old school grounds.
