ASN Grangemouth

Client: Ogilvie Construction
Project Value: £2,250,000
Start Date: March 2016
Contract Duration: 16 months

Project Outline

Construction of a new Additional Support Needs Secondary School to cater for 190 pupils.

The new school will provide internal and external spaces designed to meet the needs of children that require additional support needs, taking into account current technical standards and guidance to enhance the learning environment.

As a subcontractor to Ogilvie Construction, Kilmac work scope includes; Earthworks, formation of piling and crane platforms, ring beam foundations upon PC concrete piles, swimming pool concrete structure, drainage, service tracking and installation of roads, porous paving, attenuation systems and hard and soft landscaping.

Due to the poor clay sub soils, the construction of temporary construction roads to accommodate the HGV construction traffic during this project was crucial to the success of the project .  Kilmac designed and installed these roads. HGV traffic entering and leaving the site was identified as high risk activity at planning stage, due to the adjacent primary school and surrounding housing estate.
