Kilmac is proud to celebrate the success of Peteris Balodis, who recently claimed 1st place in his latest stone lifting competition — earning the title of Britain’s Strongest Stone Lifter.
Competing against 10 elite athletes from across England, Scotland, and Ireland, Peteris delivered an outstanding performance across several challenging events. His results included an impressive 21 reps of 280kg in the Jefferson Lift, lifting the Britannia Stones at 123kg and 103kg for 33 seconds, and completing the Walking Stones — weighing 142kg and 114kg — over 16 metres. He also achieved a remarkable 7.8-metre throw with a 15.7kg stone, finishing with a 7-point lead in the final event to secure the overall win.
Peteris’ dedication and determination have been key to his success, training four times a week and progressing from beginner to open weight level in just one year — an achievement that typically takes up to four years in the sport.
His next goal is to compete in the Scottish Qualifier in April 2026, where he’ll look to continue building on his incredible journey.
Congratulations, Peteris — we’re proud to have sponsored Britain’s Strongest Stone Lifter !
